The Principal

Leela has a wealth of experience in performing and teaching dance, and is committed to passing on that knowledge, skill, and enthusiasm to the dancers of tomorrow.

L’ Rhythmix Dance Academy was founded in 2016 by Leela Hanson, BA (Hons) Dance. IDTA, ADFP. UKCA.

Leela has a vision to train the future generation of award winning dancers, and indeed, many of our young dancers start with us from a very young age.

Leela started her performance career at a young age, starting early in the competitive Gymnastic arena, winning Silver in a major Competition at the age of just Four. She also went on to compete at County level in Trampolining, again winning major competitions. Leela then went on to train in dance, and has never looked back! Her time competing in the British Championships, and the Worlds at Blackpool Tower, The Home of Dancing was a highlight of her career!

She has also appeared at the Birmingham Hippodrome, in Matthew Bourne’s, ‘The Nutcracker’, and at The Royal Albert Hall, London, and has appeared on stage at The Prince of Wales Theatre. At the age of 18, Leela went on to University to study Dance, and was awarded with her Degree, BA (Hons) in Dance.

Since then, with her commitment to professionally develop, Leela has undertaken exams with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) and is a fully qualified Associate Teacher in Freestyle and is a proud member of ADFP.

Leela enjoys passing on fully recognised training to her students, and is fully trained in many disciplines of dance including Freestyle, Contemporary, Lyrical, Street, Hip Hop, Street Cheer, Musical Theatre, Commercial and of course Tap and Ballet.

Leela also has the further role as Dance Coordinator at Primary and Secondary schools within the Staffordshire area, to encourage young people who may not have had the opportunity to experience dance before.

Leela’s wealth of experience and enthusiasm is passed on to all her students ensuring they are happy and healthy.
